Manager/Senior Manager – Accounting

We are currently seeking an experienced Accounting Manager/Senior Manager to join our team. As a manager/senior manager, you will collaborate directly with clients and staff to deliver accounting and tax services.

Qualifications

  • CPA designation
  • Minimum 5 years of public practice experience.
  • Experience with CaseWare Cloud, Jazzit, TaxCycle, Quickbooks, and Sage. Experience with Xero is an asset.
  • Strong computer skills and comfortability with paperless filing systems are required.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of business development principles.

Job Responsibilities

  • Review of personal income tax returns, corporation income tax returns, and estate and trust returns.
  • Review of financial statements (compilation and assurance engagements).
  • Tax and estate planning.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage client relationships.
  • Mentorship and development of junior staff to complete compilation, assurance and tax engagements.
  • Deliver expert technical expertise through client interactions, technical reports, and presentations.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients.
  • Community networking and business development.
  • Contribute to the development of new processes and ideas within the firm.
  • Assist with analysis, planning, and implementation of reorganizations and business sale and acquisition agreements.

Senior Accountant

We are currently seeking experienced senior accountants to join our team. As a senior accountant, you will collaborate directly with clients and staff to deliver accounting and tax services.

Are you a highly skilled CPA Student looking to continue advancing your career in either Audit/Assurance or InDepth Tax without sacrificing your personal life? This could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Qualifications

  • CPA Student or newly designated CPA
  • 2 to 4 years of public practice experience.
  • Experience with CaseWare, Jazzit, TaxCycle, Quickbooks, Sage, and Xero is an asset.
  • Strong computer skills and comfortability with paperless filing systems are required.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Enrolment in the CPA In-Depth Tax program is a strong asset.

  • Handling CRA matters
  • Minimal bookkeeping duties

The Opportunity

As a Tax Manager, you will work directly with clients and staff to deliver tax and consulting services. The ideal candidate will be a Senior Tax Accountant/Tax Manager with a minimum of three years experience in specialized tax. Our tax practice offers the opportunity to work in a range of tax and succession planning areas including estate & trust compliance, personal and corporate tax planning, purchase and sale of private businesses, estate planning, and corporate reorganizations. We are interested in meeting candidates with experience in any of these areas.

Qualifications

  • CPA (CA/CGA/CMA) designation required.
  • Minimum three years of experience in public accounting being at least three years experience in specialized tax.
  • Completion of the CICA In-Depth Tax Program or is currently enrolled in the program
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage and mentor junior tax professionals
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Proficiency in Caseware, TaxPrep, CCH IntelliConnect and Microsoft Office is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and Review complex corporate tax returns
  • Prepare and review complex personal tax returns, terminal returns, estate returns and trust returns, along with various information forms
  • Research and interpret tax issues for internal staff and external clients
  • Prepare tax memorandums, client letters and develop opinions on various tax issues;
  • Assist in the development and implementation of tax and estate planning strategies and corporate reorganizations;
  • Liaising with tax authorities on tax audits and appeals
  • Dedication to professional development in new tax legislation and case law
  • Train, coach and supervise junior tax professionals
